Border Service Station in Strabane is a busy petrol service station providing Automatic and Jet Wash facilities for both local and passing motorists. The site experiences consistent daily demand, particularly for its Automatic Wash services.

Requirement

CB Services has worked with Border Service Station for over 30 years, supporting the ongoing development of the site’s vehicle wash facilities. Increasing demand for the Automatic Wash system has resulted in frequent queues, causing congestion within the forecourt and creating the potential for lost revenue during busy periods. In comparison, the existing Jet Wash bays were seeing significantly lower usage, highlighting an opportunity to better utilise the available wash area space.

Solution

CB Services upgraded the site’s wash facilities by installing an additional Automatic Wash system and making better use of the available wash area space to meet increasing customer demand. The underutilised Jet Wash bays were reduced to allow for increased Automatic Wash capacity within the existing forecourt layout.

Customer Overview

Rooney International Coach Hire, based in Hilltown, Newry, provides private coach hire, home to school transport services and scheduled routes throughout Northern Ireland. Operating a fleet of vehicles ranging from 29-seat to 61-seat coaches, the company requires reliable vehicle wash equipment to maintain a professional fleet appearance year-round.

Requirement

CB Services installed the site's Kube vehicle wash system over 12 years ago. Following years of reliable service, the existing machine had reached the end of its operational lifecycle and the customer was looking to invest in a modern wash solution that could deliver improved cleaning performance, with greater efficiency whilst still accomodating a wide range of vehicles.

Solution

CB Services installed the latest HW'Progress2 vehicle wash system, with the project completed on 5th June 2026.

Designed for larger vehicles, the HW'Progress2 cleans the front, rear, sides and roof of each vehicle. Advanced side brush technology provides improved wash coverage, while an intelligent mirror protection programme allows safe cleaning around larger coach mirrors. The installation also includes integrated frost protection for reliable operation throughout the year. In addition to enhanced cleaning performance, the system can reduce water consumption by up to 25% and energy usage by up to 6% compared to previous-generation models.

Customer Overview

Eurospar Rathgael Road, Bangor is a modern petrol filling station operated by Henderson Group, one of Northern Ireland’s leading retail organisations. As part of a major site refurbishment, the forecourt was upgraded to provide customers with a premium retail and service experience.

Requirement

As part of the wider refurbishment project, Henderson Group wanted to enhance the site’s vehicle wash offering to reflect the premium standard of the redeveloped forecourt. The existing hand car wash operation no longer aligned with the modernised site, creating an opportunity to introduce a high-quality self-service solution that would deliver convenience, performance and an enhanced customer experience.

Solution

CB Services supplied and installed a premium ISTOBAL self-service Jet Wash system, replacing the existing hand car wash operation. The installation was complemented by a state-of-the-art ISTOBAL modular enclosure, the first of its kind to be installed in the UK.

The purpose-designed enclosure provides enhanced protection from the elements while offering increased space to accommodate larger vehicles. Alongside the full range of Jet Wash programmes, the system includes a dedicated foam lance, allowing customers to carry out a non-contact wash for added flexibility and vehicle care.
